To complicate, this is in fact a “juxtarenal” aneurysm. There is a large, unhealthy “bleb” at the
level of the renal arteries (arrows). Open repair will necessitate a clamp above the renal arteries,
likely above the SMA.
This gentleman was also found to
have severe lumbar spinal deformity.
These deformities can force the adja-
cent structures (such as the aorta) to
warp and twist in uncommonly seen
shapes.
