Treatment

1) Conservative: Complete involution occurs
in 50% of hemangioma by 5 years, in 70%

by 7 years, and in >90% by 9 years

2) Medical treatment

 Propranolol: It is a non-selective beta-
blocker, blocking noradrenaline and

hence VEGF production. It induces

apoptosis and fat development

 Steroids: It arrests the growth phase of
hemangioma but will not cause

regression.
