Fibrosarcoma
Malignant tumour of fibroblast origin
Male predominance
Often in extremities and trunk of adults
More common in post-irradiated areas and burn
scars
Usually presents as a painless slow-growing mass
Appears as red-purplish nodule with a smooth
surface if close to skin
Fluctuance may be present if there is
intralesional haemorrhage
May ulcerate
Locally aggressive
Propensity for lung and bone metastasis
5 year survival ~50%
Wide excision is the treatment of choice
